I have a confession.
I’m addicted to Pinterest and after this post I hope to take you down the pinning path along with me……
I’ve been pretty quiet the last couple of weeks on my blog. It’s not for the lack of words but more like my head is filled with new ideas from a family photography wall to hand stamped jewelry making! I feel like my head is going to explode if I don’t share this with you!
So….just what is Pinterest?
Pinterest is a free social sharing site that allows you to view, organize and save anything and everything that you love. Think of it as one of your favorite magazines without all the celebrity-hollywood-hype. Only thing Pinterest is missing is a scratch and sniff. (Hmmm, I’d be a millionaire if I could figure that out) So many times I find beautiful images, inspiring quotes, or recipes I want to try someday and I rip them out of mags and place it who knows where and then I never run across it when I need it. Pinterest allows you to create your own personal virtual boards and “pin” whatever you may run across that floats your boat.
Ahhh, just take a look at my fabulous boards….
Wondering how you run across stuff that you want to save? After you have signed up, jump into it by clicking the EVERYTHING link at top of page and categories will drop down for you to select. For example, if you are a crafty coo-coo select DIY and Crafts and BAM you’ll instantly begin your visual journey and may not come up for air for several hours later.
This is where the “social” sharing part comes in. Say you see the most adorable headboard idea and you gasp! You have options to LIKE it, COMMENT, and/or REPIN it. When you REPIN something you are simply placing or “pinning” that item to one of your custom category boards. Add your own short description, and even share it to your Facebook and Twitter. The fantastic part is that when you click on the image it will take you directly to the original source. So not only can you slobber over this cute princess headboard but you can also purchase it OR maybe create it yourself if it takes you to a tutorial!
Why will you get addicted?
So many of us are stimulated visually. Images sometimes speak louder than words and make our curiosity within want to see more and learn more. That’s basically Pinterest in a nutshell. Follow more. Learn more. Do more. My creativity sparks are out of control at the moment . Who knew I had a thing for hand stamped jewelry, photography and shoes!? Well….of course shoes.
I’m putting it out there; Pinterest you are brilliant! The possibilities are endless for casual browsers AND for businesses. If you don’t already have a Pinterest account and want to see what everyone is talking about, let me know and I’ll send an invite to you. If you’re already a pinhead then please share your link and I”ll stalk you too!
Happy Pinning!

Yes, yes, and YES!!! That is all.
